ICE / Attributes and evidence

Could you defend it for five minutes?

Check an example against ten lines of questioning a reviewer may pursue.

LEARNING GUIDE

Use this material to examine your own work. Confirm current requirements, forms and dates with ICE before applying.

Consider where a reviewer could find an unanswered question if they spent five minutes examining your example.

Five minutes is not an ICE figure: there is no published time any example has to survive. It is a useful unit because it is roughly how long a single example gets before a reviewer either moves on or finds the seam, and because "could I talk about this for five minutes" is a test you can apply to yourself. "Is this sufficient?" is not, and nobody can answer it for you.

The output is four plain statuses and, for each dimension, the reason. You can act on "your authority is never stated". You cannot act on 68%.
