PRACTICAL WORKSHEET

CV plan

Plan a CV that explains your employment history and development of responsibility.

SELF-MANAGED RECORD

Use the worksheet for your own planning and reflection. For a formal submission, use the current ICE or IStructE form. Completing a worksheet does not certify competence.

What to record

01

Role and dates

Reverse chronological, no unexplained gaps.

02

Employer and sector

One line of context.

03

Scale

Project value, team size, your budget, duration.

04

My responsibility

One or two lines. What was yours, not what the project was.

05

Evidence of the step up

What changed between this role and the last.

06

Consistent with report?

Check dates, roles and scale against what your report says.

Use it well

  • ICE asks for professional development progression, roles and responsibilities, and the size and financial value of projects.
  • Two pages is a limit, not a target: a tight CV reads better than a full one.
