Use this material to examine your own work. Confirm current requirements, forms and dates with ICE before applying.
Practise explaining the work in your EngTech application and decisions within your responsibility.
What the review examines
The Technician Review discusses the application and practical experience against EngTech attributes. Both reviewers must be satisfied. Keep examples close to tasks you carried out and checks you can explain. A polished presentation cannot supply missing practical understanding.
Prepare the discussion
- 01
Revisit the submission
Locate each item and explain it. Check dates, responsibility and contribution. Be honest about details you cannot recall.
- 02
Explain the engineering
Practise the reason for a method, its information needs and checks. Use units and a sketch where helpful.
- 03
Discuss professional practice
Prepare actual examples of safety, resources, sustainability, communication and conduct at your level of work.
- 04
Practise follow-up questions
Ask the sponsor to question assumptions and limits. Answer the question asked and refer to evidence.
Questions to ask yourself
- Why was the procedure suitable?
Explain its basis and when to seek another approach.
- What did the check establish?
Distinguish a completeness check from technical verification.
- What if information disagreed?
Use an investigation or referral from your work.
- What changed after feedback?
Explain a practical change or remaining action.
If you choose to present
Select one aspect of a submitted example. Give enough context to understand the problem and focus on your contribution. Rehearse with the visual material within five minutes. The presentation is optional; choose it when it helps explain useful work.
On the day and afterwards
Follow ICE’s notification and rules for the review format, outside assistance and recording. Raise adjustments or conflicts through ICE. Read the result and feedback carefully. Agree further development with your sponsor if needed, and use current resubmission or appeal instructions rather than assuming the previous application remains valid.
